Las Vegas

My latest ebay goal was to pay for a trip to Las Vegas. We leave in a week and I've got it all paid for. So, ebay profits have paid for trips to Washington DC, New Orleans and now Las Vegas.

I've had people question recently why I as a disabled individual should be allowed to travel to Las Vegas. My response? It is none of anyone's business where I travel. I've survived three transplants, ten knee surgeries, four hand surgeries, a Fibromyalgia diagnosis, Trigeminal Neuralgia diagnosis and so many other health issues. Yet; I still work 20 hours per week with Daniella and about 15 hours per week with ebay. If I'm fighting through my illnesses; its nobody's business how I spend my money.

January was AMAZING! February has been slower. I've sold 26 items so far. Here are a few I sold recently:

          Tommy Hilfiger Board Shorts

                        Cost: $1.07
                       Sold: $15.99

Yes I sold another pair of board shorts to someone up north. Moral of the story: don't worry about seasons, list everything!

      Boston sports vintage sweatshirt

                         Cost: $1.00
                        Sold: $20.00

            NYDJ Green jeans size 14

                        Cost: $4.99
                       Sold: $24.99

     Vintage Pillowcases from early 90's

                         Cost: $0.00
                        Sold: $16.80

I sold 3 sets of these pillowcases on consignment. Vintage pillowcases seem to be a great buy.

       Vigoss Juniors Knit Jeans NWT

                         Cost: $2.50
                        Sold: $14.99

      Hickey Freeman 100% Cashmere
                Men's Trench Coat

                         Cost: $6.00
                        Sold: $45.00

How has February been treating you?

  1. February was good up until last Wednesday. From then until yesterday, I had no sales. Over 150 items listed and nothing! Very frustrating. Since yesterday, I've had four sales, so things are looking better.

Maybe you'll appreciate this. While at the GW today, I scored a pair of men's Ariat boots! That's the good news. The bad news is that I failed to put a pair of The North Face men's boots in my cart. I will blame it on my four-year old. Thrifting while parenting is not always a good combination. I may have been a teensy bit distracted. Oh, well! I hope someone else will be blessed with them.

Enjoy your time in Las Vegas. You have worked hard to enjoy that trip!

    1. Ariat boots! Men's pair! I appreciate I do: in my Yoda voice. That's a great score. I'd rather buy the Ariat boots than the North Face boots but wow that's a GREAT shoe section!

    2. Their shoe section has been fruitful for me recently. I live in affluent community, and I am always amazed at what people donate. :)

  2. Isn't there a Mama's & Papa's song about going where you want to go and doing what you want to do? And plus it's no one's business where you go or how you paid for the trip unless you want to share. While I was in Arizona last week, on an ebay paid for trip, I "won" $47.20 at the casino and I only spent $50.00!! Hope you luck is better than mine. Be sure to go thrifting so at least part of your trip is business related. I brought home an extra suitcase with thrifted items. Cowboy boots, leather purses, shirts in brands I never find in my area.

    1. Thank you! Great idea. Seems like different parts of the country love different brands. What did you find in Arizona that you don't find at home?

    2. I found cowboy boots waaay cheaper than in NC. Thrift stores here start them at $30 up.Justin, Nocoma(snake skin), Lucheese(sp?)were all $20 or less each. Here Reyn Spooner shirts are hard for me to find. I found 5 in one store. A Brooks Bros trench coat with wool lining (less than $10)and a vtg pair of leather saddle bags for motorcycle also less than $10. I had two large suitcases full of stuff, 80 lbs.Boots are heavy and bulky. The airline was way cheaper than having to ship stuff home.

    3. Whoa!!!! Some of those are brands I never find either. Where did you travel to? Wish I was going to be in Vegas longer so I could go thrift shopping. Congratulations! That's amazing!

  3. I agree that it's no one's business how you spend your money!

Any tips on selling NYDJ? I finally found a pair and have them listed. I looked at the sold listings for keywords and think mine are listed at a fair price but I have had hardly any views???

    1. What size are they? How much are you selling them for? I've sold over 25 pairs in the last few months. Still I have a pair listed that I thought would sell quickly and hasn't hardly been viewed either. I try to stick with size 12 and up at this point.

    3. Hmmmm.....size 14 should sell. Maybe it's still too cold for people to buy Capris? Capris are always a tougher sell.
